The kids had Friday off of school so we headed down south on Thursday night for a little fun in the Moab area. We met grandpa and had dinner at Zax. In the morning we picked up a big sandwich at the City Market and headed out to Arches. We were going to hike the Fiery Furnace but the ranger told us it was really icy. So, we hiked Park Avenue, Broken Arch, and Sand Dune Arch. We ate lunch near Devils Garden and considered driving out to Tower Arch but thought the roads might be too muddy so we didn't. The trails were a mix of icy, snowy, and muddy. It was still fun. We left Arches after a quick stop at the visitor center. We drove up the Colorado River Canyon and did a short hike up Negro Bill Canyon, it was also muddy. We then drove up into the Fisher Tower area enjoying river views along the way. I checked out the boat ramp at Onion Creek and then we headed back to Moab for dinner at the Moab Grill. In the morning we hiked Corona Arch and then stopped at Ray's for a burger before heading home. It was a fun trip with good weather even if it was a little muddy.
